Evelyn’s New Room –
As the avid reader of Father’s Blogs Best that you are, you are well aware of the fact that we are having a little girl. We have discussed before our knack for being prepared and getting the room ready and getting all the necessities to welcome this baby into the world. What we may not have mentioned before was our proclivity for procrastinating as well.
We have also been known to change our mind about previously made decisions. Again, as a frequent reader, you may recall we had colors decided for a baby boy and baby girl. We were set, ready to go, just needed to find out the gender. Well, we found that out at the beginning of September. Busy schedules and mommy needing to rest resulted in delays in getting everything situated. In the past 2-3 weeks we decided it was time to start painting. Jessica is feeling the urge to start nesting and we can’t begin doing that until it is painted.

Well, the original colors were vetoed once we saw them on the wall. We tried another set of colors. These were it. Let’s put those on the wall to see how the look. Oh…no, those aren’t the winners either. We tried several other options, and found several other nopes.
We knew what we wanted; three colors, one primary, and two accents. We just had trouble determining the exact colors. Jessica and I stood in Home Depot last week and were determined to find “the ones”. All our colors revolved around the same color family. A blue, a yellow, and a pink (or purple). Jessica picked a set, and I picked a set. We took them home painted some swatches on the wall.
These were feeling more like the right choices. Then came the debate. We both agreed on the blue. We both agreed on the yellow. But we were split on the third color. Jessica had chose a true pink. I had chosen deeper pink-ish/coral color. I really wanted this color, so I did the only thing a man in my position could do. I begged for us to use my color choice.
It worked!! We had our colors. Last weekend Grammy and Pop-Pop (Jessica’s parents) came over to help us paint the room. And wow, did the room turn out great. A huge thanks to them for helping us. Did I mention the room looks great?

Now, we just need to start getting some furniture in there and can get decorations up as well. Things are coming together pretty well. Now, we only have….wait a second! Is this right?!?!? 17 WEEKS?!! There’s still too much to do!!!! Okay, everyone just breathe, let’s calm down. We’re good **nervously fidgeting**

The room looks great, Jer! I love reading your blogs!.
